ShopRite and the Phillies announced today that they will host the second annual ShopRite Partners In Caring food drive to benefit Philabundance at the Sunday, July 8th Phillies vs. Braves game at Citizens Bank Park. Fans who bring a non-perishable food donation to the ShopRite Can Can truck parked on Citizens Bank Way between 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. will receive a FREE ShopRite re-usable grocery bag, while supplies last. Fans can also drop off their donations in Philabundance bins located at Citizens Bank Park entrance gates.
This year, the iconic ShopRite truck, featuring the ShopRite Can Can dancers, will also be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of ShopRite’s famous Summer Can Can sale. ShopRite hopes to collect more than 10,000 pounds of food to benefit those in need in the Delaware Valley.
Additional highlights of the day’s events include:
- Music by 98.1 WOGL;
- ShopRite Can Can dancing with the Phillies Ballgirls;
- Fun events for kids of all ages, presented by ShopRite and The Please Touch Museum;
- A chance to win tickets to the upcoming “ShopRite Jimmy Rollins Back-to-School Cooler Giveaway Night” at the Phillies game on Sunday, August 26;
- Food sampling, while supplies last;
- An appearance by the Phillies Phanatic; and
- A special visit by Phillies legend Greg “The Bull” Luzinski.
The event is open to the public; game tickets are not required to access the ShopRite Partners In Caring food drive on Citizens Bank Way.
ShopRite is a proud sponsor of the Phillies and a longtime friend to Philabundance, the largest hunger relief organization in the Delaware Valley. Through its ShopRite Partners In Caring program, ShopRite donates more than $3 million annually to food banks, such as Philabundance, throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland.
“ShopRite continues to prove that they are a great partner in helping families in need,” says Dave Buck, Phillies Senior Vice President of Marketing & Advertising Sales. “Based on last year’s results, we are confident that, once again, we will make a significant impact through the support of ShopRite and the many fans who get involved in this unique food drive.”
