Philanthropic Pet Food Boosts Non-Grocery Revenue

Mister Buck’s Genuinely Good Pet Food Co. offers holistic natural pet food to consumers while promoting local community philanthropy. According to Jon Kitto, founder of the Bloomfield, Ind.-based company, sales of Mister Buck’s pet food have enabled the company to donate tens of thousands of dollars to local animal welfare groups.

“Mister Buck’s donates money directly back to the county Humane Society or Animal Rescue group where the product is sold,” says Kitto.

Products in the Mister Buck’s line include three varieties of dry dog food; Everyday, Chicken & Brown Rice—a higher protein food for very active dogs, nursing mothers and puppies—and No Grain for dogs that have grain allergies. Each variety is available in 20- and 5-pound bags. For cats, the company offers one adult dry and one canned offering, Seafood & Chicken with Caviar Dinner.

“We are a mission-driven organization,” adds partner Zach Robinson. “People feel good when they buy Mister Buck’s.”
