Boulder Canyon Natural Foods Receives Non-GMO Project Verified Seal

Boulder Canyon Natural Foods, a natural snack food manufacturer and member of the Inventure Foods, Inc. family of specialty food brands, is proud to announce that it has successfully enrolled its kettle-cooked potato chips in the Non-GMO Project.

The Non-GMO Project Product Verification process and seal assures consumers that a product is free of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), including plants or animals that have been grown or raised using gene splicing techniques of biotechnology.

The Boulder Canyon flavors that are Non-GMO Project Verified include: Totally Natural, Totally Natural Canyon Cut, Olive Oil, 40% Reduced Fat, 60% Reduced Sodium, Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper and Hickory Barbeque. All packages will include the Non-GMO Project Verified seal beginning in June of this year.

In addition to meeting Non-GMO standards, all Boulder Canyon kettle-cooked chips are gluten-free and feature no trans fats and zero cholesterol.

“The Non-GMO Project verification process is rigorous, but we believe it is vitally important to our customers and Boulder Canyon,” says Tim Bateman, vice president of Boulder Canyon.

The Non-GMO Project provides food manufacturers, retailers, farmers and suppliers with procedures and best practices for minimizing the presence of GMO ingredients. The organization’s Product Verification Program (PVP) is a comprehensive process designed to assess compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard, which includes traceability, segregation and routine testing at critical control points.
