Freshway Foods Celebrates 25 Years

Freshway Foods celebrates their 25th anniversary with tremendous growth, positive change and a long-standing commitment to creating a clear value proposition.

FreshwayFoodsStarted by co-owners Frank and Phil Gilardi, the company originated with five associates in an 8,000 square-foot facility. Today, Freshway operates in a state-of-the-art, 100,000 square foot facility and employs over 400 team members.  Many of these associates have served at Freshway for over 20 years. “We are very proud to see so many dedicated associates at Freshway Foods. Our ability to recruit, hire, and maintain a loyal workforce is a significant competitive advantage in our industry,” says Frank Gilardi, CEO.

The company’s distribution area now covers over 60% of the U.S. population and lead to the creation of Freshway Logistics in 2003, a fleet of 41 power units and 53 trailers that provide rapid response logistic solutions to customers east of Mississippi from Maine to Florida.

Freshway continues to deliver many benefits to their wide range of foodservice, retail and broadliner customers. Some of these benefits include convenience, consistency, reduced preparation time, 100% usable product, labor cost reduction and a strong emphasis on food safety and quality. While the company focuses on new product development for foodservice and retail customers, Freshway also supports nationwide initiatives to provide healthier food in schools.

Looking ahead Freshway recognizes the importance of maintaining and expanding their highly valued work force.  “We are very fortunate that our surrounding community provides us with plenty of support.
