Mann Packing is teaming up with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series for a second race season this fall to feature its award-winning Stringless Sugar Snap Peas at three major race events in San Jose, St. Louis and Las Vegas.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Seriesis the world’s largest running series, covering several major markets in North America and international destinations, with more than 471,500 participants. In addition, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series is a charity fundraising event that raised more than $250 million last year.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series creates a festival-like atmosphere when it comes to town – combining running, music and fun, at a two-day health and fitness expo, along with offering runners options including a marathon, half marathon, relays, wheelchair invitational and elite athlete invitational. There are live bands along the racecourse and a post race concert.
In addition to Sugar Snap Pea sampling, Mann will have Snappy, its mascot, on hand for pictures and to distribute future-purchase coupons to more than 35,000 attendees at each race, said Gina Nucci, director of healthy culinary innovation.
“This is the second season that we are participating in the Fitness Expos at the race events,” says Nucci. “The demographics of the race participants match our target market. It was a new venue for us to promote our products and generate awareness for Mann overall last year. This season we’re participating in races where we have outstanding distribution with our retail partners such as Savemart, Lucky, FoodMaxx, Raley’s, Nob Hill and Bel Air in Northern California; Dierberg’s and Schnuck’s in St. Louis; and Albertson’s in Las Vegas.”
