Galaxy Nutritional Foods Launches GO Veggie! to Meet Demand for Dairy and Lactose Free Foods

GO VEGGIE! LOGOGalaxy Nutritional Foods, a leading provider of cheese free products for 30 years, announced the launch of GO Veggie!, a new brand of products that aims to serve the millions of Americans seeking dairy and lactose free foods. More than one third of all people worldwide are lactose intolerant, and millions of Americans are choosing to reduce their dairy, go dairy-free or go vegan in hopes of establishing a healthier and/or more principled lifestyle, officials for the company say.

“We’ve seen an exponential rise in the number of Americans, including children, who have a dairy or lactose allergy, are following a vegan lifestyle, or are simply trying to cut back on cholesterol,” says Jamie Schapiro, marketing director, GO Veggie! “We believe everyone should be able to enjoy the cheesy food they love without sacrifice. GO Veggie! exists as a healthier solution for any diet.”

Uniting five Galaxy Nutritional Foods brands into one, GO Veggie! offers improved product flavors and packaging for consumers to easily identify the cheesy choice that is right for them, company officials say. GO Veggie! offers three product lines, strategically color-coded and designed to display product benefits and differentiators. The product lines include GO Veggie! Lactose Free (green packaging), GO Veggie! Dairy Free, Vegan (purple packaging) and GO Veggie! Lactose Free & Soy Free (blue packaging).

Digesting the Data
Lactose is a milk sugar and requires the enzyme lactase for digestion, which decreases with age. Globally, 33% of people are lactose intolerant—40 million of which are Americans—and only 40% of people maintain the ability to digest lactose after childhood. A milk allergy, on the other hand, involves an immune response to casein and/or whey, which are milk proteins and common allergen triggers, especially in children. Many dairy products also contain high levels of cholesterol, which can negatively impact heart health.

“It can be overwhelming to navigate the food landscape with an allergy or dietary restriction,” says Rick Antonelli, chief executive officer of GO Veggie! “Our unified brand packaging eliminates guessing in the grocery aisle, and we’re proud to say that our products keep getting tastier. Anyone who loves cheese is a friend of GO Veggie!”

This is wonderful!!! It is so nice that they have thought of making this product to give way for those who have different food preferences and those that are allergic or intolerant to some types of food. I believe that they should also be given consideration and I hope Go Veggies can serve them with this.
