United Fresh Kicks Off its 2014 Webinar Series
By Grocery Headquarters Staff
United Fresh's 2014 Webinar Series begins this month. The first topic of the series is Strategies for Limiting Your Legal Exposure in Recalls, taking place on January 16, 2014 at 2pm EST/11am PST. This one-hour webinar, hosted by the United Fresh Grower-Shipper Board, will help produce companies understand the legal consequences from foodborne illness outbreaks and recall events, and identify strategies that companies can use to avoid staggering financial losses and criminal charges in the future. Attorneys David Durkin, Olsson, Frank & Weeda, and Danny Gurwitz, Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, will examine the scope of America’s food safety laws, review real-world case studies showing successful legal strategies, and address the most critical civil and criminal liability issues facing fresh produce companies today. This will be the first program of a new webinar series hosted by United’s Market Segment Boards and Expert Councils. Each month, United’s volunteer leader groups will tackle a new topic on key issues impacting the industry. More information about the series will be available soon. Registration is free for United Fresh members and $50 for non-members. Pre-registration is required. Register for the first webinar here.
