Nominations a Chef for the 2014 Foodservice Awards Program

United Fresh Produce Association is now accepting nominations for the 2014 Produce Excellence in Foodservice Awards Program, sponsored by PRO*ACT, a distributor of fresh produce to the foodservice industry.

This special program will honor seven outstanding chefs for their use of fresh produce in the culinary arts in the following categories:

  • Business in Industry
  • Casual and Family Dining Restaurants
  • Colleges and Universities
  • Fine Dining Restaurants
  • Hotels and Healthcare
  • K-12 School Foodservice
  • Quick Service Restaurants

The winning chefs will be selected based on creativity in menu design using fresh produce, proper produce handling procedures, community outreach and recognition among peers.

The winners will be recognized at the Produce Celebration Gala at the United Fresh 2014 convention in Chicago. Each winner, along with an accompanying corporate executive, will receive complimentary registration to the convention, round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations.

This program is an exceptional opportunity for the produce industry to pay homage to chefs who are embracing fresh produce on their menus and delighting customers every day.

Application forms for the Produce Excellence in Foodservice Awards are available on the United Fresh website. All nominations must be received by February 28, 2014.
