Boomchickapop Sweet and Salty Kettle Corn is made with simple ingredients in small batch kettles which gives it the distinct flavor balance of sweetness and salt, company officials say. It has 70 calories per cup, making it a satisfying snack that won’t trigger post-snack guilt, they add.
Popcorn’s explosive 50%+ growth in 2013 looks to continue as retailers are seeking new ways to lead the natural salted snack category to further sustained growth, industry observers say. This latest variety adds to Angie’s Boomchickapop line, which launched in the summer of 2012 to provide consumers with a health-conscious snack. Sales for the newest Angie’s line grew more than 100% in 2013, company officials add.
Angie’s is also announcing at the show that all of its Holidrizzle varieties, including Candy Corn and Iced Gingerbread, will be nationally available in 2014. To celebrate national distribution, Angie’s is serving up “booming” samples of its full Holidrizzle and Boomchickapop lines at this year’s Expo West.
Each batch is free of trans fats and preservatives. Angie’s varieties are Kosher and Gluten-Free Certified, made from non-GMO popcorn.
In an effort to educate consumers about where their food comes from and how to grow healthy snacks, Angie’s Popcorn will also be launching their very first “Grow Some Boom” campaign at Expo West. The campaign invites consumers to test their green thumbs and grow their very own Boomchickapop organic, untreated non-GMO popcorn. Throughout the summer, consumers can visit the Grow Some Boom website to learn growing tips and tricks ands share stories and garden photos with other growers throughout the country.
Attendees can stop by the Angie’s booth to pick up a Grow Some Boom seed planting kit and learn more about this program.
