In 2006 ShopRite implemented a health and wellness program to help its customers eat well and live a healthy lifestyle. ShopRite’s Retail Dietitian program has grown since then to include more than 80 in-store Registered Dietitians who provide their services to ShopRite customers free of charge. This year, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics will recognize the efforts of America’s Registered Dietitian professionals on Wednesday, March 12th. ShopRite’s retail dietitian team will commemorate this day with special events, in-store demonstrations and free giveaways throughout the month of March, store officials say.
Natalie Menza, ShopRite’s corporate dietitian says, “With more than 80 retail Registered Dietitians, ShopRite is always looking at new ways to better serve customers and to help them live healthier lifestyles. Registered Dietitian Day is a great way to spread ShopRite’s wellness message and share tips and tricks for healthy living.”

As part of ShopRite’s commitment to helping its customers live healthier lives, an on-site registered dietitian is made available in select stores on a daily basis for customer consultation. Customers can take advantage of these services, which include, but are not limited to, personal nutrition, special diets for specific medical conditions, healthy alternatives in customer’s favorite recipes, smarter shopping for healthier living and implementing more nutritious foods into everyday meals, store officials say.
ShopRite’s registered dietitians also partner with various community organizations, such as the local youth organizations and food pantries, to teach kids and adults alike about the importance of a healthy lifestyle through store tours, cooking demos and in-store seminars.
