Winner Drives Away in Winn-Dixie Franks RedHot Tailgate Truck

Frank’s RedHot and Winn-Dixie Stores have announced the grand prize winner of the “Tailgate Like the Real Beef People” online sweepstakes: Cathy Jupin of Tarpon Springs, Florida.

image001Jupin will be presented with the Tailgate Truck during a special ceremony at the Winn-Dixie in Pinellas Park, Florida. The Winn-Dixie Frank’s RedHot Tailgate Truck is a custom Ford F-150 fully outfitted with all the necessities to host the ultimate tailgate and includes a barbecue grill, refrigerator, TV, custom rims and sound system. Jupin’s photo was entitled “Good Game, Great Food” and depicted a plate piled high with Frank’s RedHot Buffalo wings along with assorted Winn-Dixie products including burgers, dogs, chips and paper goods as part of her “must-haves” for the ultimate tailgate.

“I was so surprised to find out I’d won,” says Jupin. “We’re real sports fans in our house and I knew the Winn-Dixie Frank’s RedHot truck was something we’d all enjoy. The truck arrived just in time for baseball season and we’re already planning our Spring road trip, but we’ll be sure to find excuses to take it out all year long, especially during the Fall tailgating season.”

In November and December, customers were invited to enter the online contest and upload a picture of themselves and their best tailgate set-up through Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. In an effort to promote the contest, the Winn-Dixie Frank’s RedHot Tailgate Truck toured various locations in the Southeast including key Winn-Dixie locations and several SEC and ACC conference football games. More than 21,000 people viewed the truck and were inspired to enter the contest.

“We want to congratulate Ms. Jupin and commend her for her outstanding efforts in creating such a delicious pre-game spread,” says Rondel Hartwell, Winn-Dixie’s director of public relations and community involvement. “It’s great to see that our customers love tailgating as much as we do. They are the real experts when it comes to tailgating.”

The Winn-Dixie “Tailgate Like the Real Beef People” online sweepstakes was open to residents of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Photos were judged on the following criteria: Originality (25%), Style (25%), Best represents the essence of tailgating (25%) and User votes (25%).
