The National Mango Board (NMB) in conjunction with the University of California, Davis (Department of Plant Science) will be hosting a free Mango Ripening Webinar on Thursday, Apr. 24, 2014 at 4pm EST. The webinar will discuss why mango ripening is important to the U.S. consumer and how to utilize the NMB’s new Mango Handling and Ripening Protocol.
“The NMB provides an abundant amount of tools for the industry to consider if they want to develop their own ripening system,” says William Watson, executive director for the NMB. During the webinar, the NMB will showcase their new ripening tool, Mango Handling and Ripening Protocol, which will be available to the industry to utilize in their business.
In addition, Dr. Carlos Crisosto, Department of Plant Sciences – University of California, Davis, will discuss the benefits of implementing a ripening program and share insights on the positive effects ripening has on mango consumers and acceptance.
