Seth Mendelson is the publisher and editorial director of Macfadden Communications, overseeing multiple titles across many key categories. Seth has been a journalist since graduating from Syracuse University in 1980. He was a sportswriter and newswriter for Gannett Newspapers, before becoming an editor at Mass Market Retailers, Nonfoods Merchandising and Supermarket Business. Also, Seth was previously editor in chief of Retail Merchandiser. He has been quoted in a number of publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and many regional newspapers.
With more than 20 years of industry experience under his belt, including more than six with Grocery Headquarters, Richard Turcsik is a walking encyclopedia of supermarket knowledge. As
executive editor he is responsible for much of the magazine’s content, including the popular Retail Spotlight features, cover stories, news articles, center store and perishables features, as well as the Trade Talk, In the Aisles and Promotion Corner sections. If Richard didn’t write for GHQ he would be “working undercover."
When his dreams of playing professional hockey died due to lack of skill, Craig turned to writing. After doing some time on the PR side, he began his journalism career with Macfadden in 1995 working for Discount Merchandiser and Supermarket Business. He has been with Grocery Headquarters since 2008. Despite discussing the grocery industry five days a week, one of his favorite pastimes is going grocery shopping with his wife and daughters. In addition to walking supermarket aisles, Craig still plays mens' league hockey and takes long weekend bike rides to stay in shape.

After graduating with a journalism degree from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., Lindsey—a native Detroit suburbanite—fled the Midwest to pursue her lifelong dream as a city dweller in New York City. She began her editorial career covering New York City as an intern at Time Out New York, before moving into the world of business-to-business publishing. Lindsey has covered jewelry crime and news at JCK magazine, and spent four years immersed in the cuddly business of pets as the associate editor of GHQ’s sister publication Pet Business magazine. The former Times Square barista has also served coffee to A-, B-, and C-list celebrities.
Arielle joined the GHQ team in September of 2014, after leaving the world of spa and beauty to honor her one true love—food! Upon graduating from Penn State, Arielle dabbled in PR and socialmedia before finally landing in the editorial field. When she’s not busy daydreaming about her next meal, you can find her shopping, reading, fruitlessly tweeting at celebrities, voting for her favorite contestants on The Voice or walking miles across Manhattan in the name of baked goods.
A graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., Carol has a degree in journalism/communications. Having joined the staff of Grocery Headquarters magazine more than a decade ago, Carol has written about every category in the supermarket. Currently, her main responsibilities include spearheading the Equipment,Design and Operations section each month. A New Jersey native, Carol, her husband Greg and three Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers, now live in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Outside of work, she’s an avid outdoors woman, who enjoys spending her lunch hour hiking with her dogs and weekends skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, growing organic vegetables or cruising around on their Harley.

Randall C. Hammett
Randall C. (Randy) Hammett has been on the sales staff of the magazine since 1994. He calls on advertising customers and agencies in the Midwest. He graduated from Drake University in Des
Moines, Iowa, with a BA degree in Journalism/Advertising and a minor in Marketing. Before coming over to business-to-business publishing Randy held a number of sales, marketing and
management positions with the Chicago Tribune. He is an avid golfer and gardener and follows all of the Chicago sports teams. He is the father of three grown children and dotes when he can on his four grandchildren.
Steven P. Werner
Steve Werner has been with Grocery Headquarters since 2000, focusing on the sales for the Non-Foods categories. His accomplishments at GHQ include developing effective media programs and
helping to grow the number one publication in the industry. When not working, Steve likes to spend time with his family and watch sports (Go Chicago Bears!). When asked what he would do if he
didn’t work at GHQ, Steve says “be on a beach somewhere.”
Senior Director of Advertising – Northeast/Southeast
Since 2004, Mike Weinreich has been responsible for Grocery Headquarters’sales for in the North and Southeast regions. Some of Mike’s professional and personal accomplishments include selling retail trade advertising for over 20 years, having a wonderful family and getting out of three tickets this year. Outside of schmoozing with GHQ’s partners, he enjoys spending time watching ice hockeywith his son and basketball with his daughter. If Mike wasn’t working at GHQ he would be napping on a beach—but not necessarily the same beach as Steve.

Ruth & Randy Schneider
Randy and Ruth Schneider have been with Grocery Headquarters for 12 years and have a combined 35+ years selling supermarket trade advertising. They handle the eleven
western states, Alaska, Hawaii and the two western Canadian Provinces. They also handle National Fresh Sales for the Produce, Meat, Seafood and Poultry categories. Their
combined experience brings a wealth of information to their clients.
