Bantam Bagels Enters Grocery Stores with Frozen Mini Stuffed Bagels

Published:

Bantam Bagels, the NYC-based bagel bakery, whose roots began in a small retail space in Manhattan’s West Village, can now be found in more than 8,000 new points of distribution, including Starbucks, QVC, Fred Meyer and many Kroger locations.

The bite-sized items known as "Bantams," come stuffed with cream cheese already inside, making Bantam Bagels easy to eat on the go and perfect for anyone from kids to adults, say company officials.

Husband and wife team, Nick and Elyse Oleksak, are the owners and founders of Bantam Bagels, and are recognized entrepreneurs from ABC’s Shark Tank. “Everyone knows New Yorkers love their bagels and that is a large part of why we decided to start our business here,” says Nick Oleksak.

“We knew it would be no small task changing the way New Yorkers consumed their beloved bagel, but everyone knows that if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere,” adds Elyse. Every Bantam Bagel is still made in Brooklyn N.Y., where the concept first emerged, and where the key ingredient—New York City tap water—is plentiful.

Starting in October, frozen boxes of Bantam Bagels can be found in more than 600 grocery stores, allowing customers to access an authentic bite of NYC at home. Bantam Bagels can be found in Kroger stores in Ohio & Michigan; QFC and Fred Meyer in the Pacific Northwest; Safeway stores in California, the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii; and in a number of independent grocery stores in New York, Connecticut and New England.

With a brand new website that includes a new flat rate shipping model in place, customers now have a chance to sample Bantam Bagels, shipped directly to their home. Online ordering is now available. Officials add that online ordering is great way to send a loved one a fun gift, or they can be a perfect way to access some of the more unique flavor combinations that can be found at the Bantam Bagels shop without a trip to New York City.

Additionally, after testing Bantam Bagels in select Starbucks locations, Bantam Bagels will be available in more than 7,000 company-operated Starbucks locations across the United States. “Starbucks is committed to supporting local entrepreneurs, and has supported our efforts to grow and develop our brand. We are proud to provide customers with a unique, quality product in Starbucks locations,” says Elyse.

“The expansion within Starbucks is literally a dream come true for us,” adds Nick.
