A promotion between the Beef Checkoff Program and Weber Sauces & Seasonings intends to help shoppers create a steakhouse steak in their own backyard by offering purchase incentives for beef and grilling seasonings and sauces. Starting June 16, a Free-Standing Insert (FSI) will begin appearing in newspapers nationwide through August 15, and will offer coupons for $1 off fresh beef with a purchase of Weber seasonings and $1 off a purchase of Weber Real Molasses BBQ Sauce.
“We’ve brought together two summer staples – Beef and the grill – to deliver purchase-incentives that draw shoppers to the meat case but also motivate consumers to get out and grill,” says Penny Nau, senior director of promotions for the Beef Checkoff Program.
The FSI will direct shoppers to stores to redeem the coupons and purchase the Top Sirloin Steak featured in the ad. Because the promotion will reach more than 30 million consumers, retailers can expect increased traffic in the meat department, with consumers seeking out the Top Sirloin Steak and Weber Sauces & Seasonings grilling products featured in the FSI, say officials at the Beef Checkoff.
