Gluten-free baking gets a big boost with the addition of King Arthur Flour’s Gluten-Free All-Purpose Baking Mix to its award-winning line of gluten-free products, company officials say. Available in supermarkets nationwide and direct through King Arthur Flour, the versatile new mix can be used in a variety of gluten-free recipes, from pancakes and biscuits to roll-out sugar cookies and chocolate cupcakes.
“We really want to make high-quality gluten-free baking available to bakers at all levels. With this mix, they can follow our recipes or get creative on their own,” says Mark Tecca, King Arthur Flour’s director of new business development and manufacturing. “We also think they deserve better nutrition, so this mix is made with whole grain rice flour and fortified with iron and calcium. And our tests show consumers LOVE the way it tastes.”
Like the company’s entire line of gluten-free baking mixes, the new King Arthur Gluten-Free All-Purpose Baking Mix is Certified Gluten-Free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO) and is manufactured in a facility that does not process the top eight food allergens. The mix includes non-aluminum baking powder; is a good source of fiber, calcium, and iron; and includes 20 grams of whole grain brown rice flour per serving.
In addition to several favorite recipes on the box, home bakers will find a wealth of recipes using the Gluten-Free All-Purpose Baking Mix at kingarthurflour.com/recipes. King Arthur Flour’s baking experts are also available on the company’s Baking Hotline to offer gluten-free baking advice.
King Arthur Flour’s Gluten-Free All-Purpose Baking Mix is available through supermarkets nationwide as well as through the company’s Baker’s Catalogue and online at kingarthurflour.com. The 24-ounce box retails for around $6.95.
