image002 (1)Luvo, the lifestyle food brand, announced that they have signed a comprehensive sponsorship with the New York Yankees.  Derek Jeter, Luvo’s brand development officer/partner, was instrumental in the deal, brand officials say.  As part of the agreement, Luvo meals will be offered in select locations at Yankee Stadium.  Luvo will also receive permanent signage in the Yankees bullpen, and will have the ability to use the Yankees marks in advertising.

“We are excited to be a Proud Sponsor of the New York Yankees,” says Christine Day, Luvo’s chief executive officer. “The Yankees are not just one of the premier teams in professional sports, but also one of the most valuable brands. We envision many opportunities working with the New York Yankees organization, not the least of which includes serving our delicious food to their loyal fans. The fact this stadium is Derek’s professional home only strengthens our connection.”

“Eating well and maintaining a healthy lifestyle have become important priorities in my life and are critical to ensuring my peak performance on and off the field,” says Jeter. “I believe in the vision of the Luvo team and look forward to helping them positively impact health and wellness in our country by changing the way we eat.”

“We are greatly excited about our partnership with Luvo, and hope that its signage will strengthen awareness of its emerging brand at retail locations throughout the country,’” says Michael J. Tusiani, New York Yankees senior vice president of corporate sales and sponsorships. “We are also working with Legends to include Luvo food as part of our Stadium’s culinary offering.”

Founded by Stephen Sidwell, Luvo seeks to revolutionize the way America eats by delivering great tasting, nutrient-dense food, brand officiasl say.   Luvo’s easy-to-prepare entrée and snack offerings are flavored with combinations of herbs and spices, never using additives, artificial colorings or preservatives.  The chef-inspired entrees are all under 500 calories and contain 500 mg of sodium or less.

The deal was negotiated by Excel Sports Management, Luvo’s sponsorship agency. ”Stephen and Christine are excited to see the vision for Luvo materialize with this new partnership,” Jeter adds.
